The new Samsung smartwatches might not have Android, but that doesn't mean they will be devoid of apps. PayPal has posted a video of its new smartwatch app in action on the Gear 2. This is a cartoonish rendering, but the real app will reportedly function just like we see in the video.

PayPal users with the Gear 2 or Gear 2 Neo should be able to see their balance and transaction history, but also take advantage of PayPal's location-based services. The app will be able to list deals nearby and process transactions in stores that use PayPal's mobile payment solution.
Tizen doesn't have the built-in developer community that Android does, but PayPal's commitment is encouraging. Anything to keep that phone in your pocket, right? Taking your phone out to do things is so 2013.
